Threats from High Winds (Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Storms)
The images from the
destruction left by the recent tornadoes in the South
and Midwest are a reminder of the incredible violence
and power of nature. While none of us can undo the
damage, we all can work to better prepare for future
emergencies. The members of NCMA believe that the
inherent strength of reinforced concrete masonry makes
it an excellent choice to withstand wind-born debris –
the largest threat to occupants in these storms. As
communities are rebuilding, we want to provide the tools
they need to rebuild with more strength and protection.
